SKI INSTRUCTOR
COURSE
BASI
The BASI Alpine Level 1 Instructor course is a five day course. This is the
entry level course for students who wish to join the BASI Education System. The qualification is for those
wishing to find employment in a non mountain
environment, i.e. artificial slopes and snowdomes. It is
also the 1st stage of the BASI Instructor Level 2. On completion of this training course,
a 2 day first aid qualification, a CRB check and 35 hours of supervised
tuition are required before the qualification
is awarded.

SNOWSPORT
ENGLAND
Snowsport England administers a licencing scheme for
those who wish to teach on artificial slopes.
The course will last for a minimum of 14 hours [or 2
days]. It may be delivered over a single weekend, or a
series of shorter sessions. On completion of the course
a basic first aid qualification, a CRB check and 20
hours of supervised tuition are required before the
qualification is awarded.

SNOWBOARD
INSTRUCTOR COURSE
The snowboard instructor course is a five
day course, generally run over 3 weekends, and is run
through the Snowsports Scotland/British Snowboard Association.
The course works on your personal snowboarding and techniques
of teaching, assessment is carried out during the course.
On successful completion of the course the Artificial
Snowboard Instructor qualification is awarded. This
course can also be used as a foundation course for the
British Association of Snowsports Instructors (BASI)
1 Snowboard Instructor qualification. Some supervised
tuition will be required after the course before you
can start teaching.
Both these qualifications will improve the standard
of your skiing and snowboarding considerably.
