Terms and Conditions

  1. The group size must not exceed 12 persons with one instructor for skiing, and should not exceed 8 persons for snowboard lessons. (Minimum age for snowboarding is 12yrs old). Booking will be accepted subject to availability.
  2. A group must consist of members all at the same ability or level. In the case of beginners, it should be pointed out that it is not possible to add new members part way through a series of lessons. Skiers/snowboarders and non-skiers/non-snowboarders must not be mixed in any one group situation. However should this occur then we reserve the right to charge an additional fee for those individuals not requiring tuition.
  3. All tuition is provided by Southampton Alpine instructors.
  4. It is possible for one member of the supervisory school staff to join in with their group providing they stay with the group - this may take place only at the discretion of the group instructor.
  5. Schools are reminded that a teacher must accompany a school group. It is requested that a female teacher accompany a group that includes girls.
  6. Centre staff must be notified of any individual whose health may be affected due to taking part in activities provided by the Centre, e.g. Asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, heart or lung conditions or pregnancy.
  7. Methods of payment:-
If four or less sessions are booked at any one time, the payment is required in advance.
For five or more sessions, booked at any one time, an account can be raised with confirmation of your initial booking, for the period booked.
When paying by cheque please ensure it is made payable to Southampton Alpine Centre.
  8. Charges are based upon a group rate.
  9. Although all necessary equipment is supplied to the individual (boots, skis, boards, pads and poles), they will need to provide suitable clothing for the session.
This should be long socks, waterproof or warm clothing with long sleeves and long trousers.
Tough gloves or mitts and not woollen or finger-less gloves are required, as a protective measure, due to the abrasive nature of the artificial slope surface.
Correct clothing is still essential during the warmer summer months.
Please ensure that your groups are aware of the clothing regulations. In order to maintain safety we reserve the right to restrict your group members activities if, in our opinion, they are not suitably clothed.
  10. Your signature will be required on your booking form as confirmation of having read and agreed to abide by these regulations.

    Please note:

Cancellation of lessons - Refunds will require a minimum of eight days notice in writing. An admin charge will be made.
Southampton Alpine Centre reserves the right to cancel lessons at a moments notice and will attempt to offer other alternatives.
