GENERAL TERMS
AND CONDITIONS
1. All sports equipment is included in
the cost of lessons and is not refundable in the event
of personal equipment being used. We also reserve the
right to examine personal equipment for suitability.
2. All
lessons/sessions must be paid for at the time of
booking. We are unable to accept provisional bookings.
3.
Lessons/sessions will take place irrespective of weather
conditions.
4. All
tuition is provided by Southampton Alpine instructors.
No other teaching or coaching is permitted.
5.
Payment:-
Payment is required at the time of booking for all
lessons unless stated otherwise.
All major credit cards are accepted. Cheques are no
longer accepted.
6.
Southampton Alpine Centre reserves the right to cancel
or revise fees and bookings without prior notice.
7. If
Southampton Alpine Centre deems it necessary to close
the slopes due to circumstances beyond its control, the
only liability will be to issue a credit note for the
lesson/session.
8.
Centre staff
must be notified of any individual whose health may be
affected due to taking part in activities provided by
the Centre, e.g. Asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, heart or
lung conditions, back problems, injuries or pregnancy.
If in any doubt a doctor
should be consulted.
9.
Southampton Alpine Centre does not accept any liability
beyond its legal obligations. You are advised to obtain
personal indemnity insurance as appropriate.
10.
Amendments to bookings made by the customer require
eight or more days notice prior to the start date and
must be confirmed in writing. An administration charge
will be made.
11.
Cancellations/amendments within 8 days of the start date
will not be refunded and all monies paid will be
forfeited. Refunds require eight or more days notice
prior to the start date and must be confirmed in writing
and include all receipts. An administration charge will
be made. Once a course has commenced, no refunds will be
made for any part of the course cancelled by the
customer or for non attendance.
12.
Although all necessary
equipment is available (boots, skis, boards, helmets,
wrist guards, pads and poles), customers need to provide
suitable clothing for the session.
This should be long socks, waterproof or warm clothing
with long sleeves and long trousers.
Tough gloves or mitts and not woollen or finger-less
gloves are required, as a protective measure, due to the
abrasive nature of the artificial slope surface.
Correct clothing is still essential during the warmer
summer months.
In order to maintain safety we reserve the right to
restrict customer's activities if, in our opinion, they
are not suitably clothed.
13. All
participants on a ringo session must be at least 6yrs
old (8yrs for the track) and at least one metre tall.
14.
Trainers or similar must be worn for all ringo sessions
(no open toe shoes or slip-ons, heels, ug boots, etc.). Anyone
not wearing suitable footwear will not be allowed on the
session.
(Snowboard
boots are available to hire).
15. All non
participants are prohibited from encroaching onto the
slopes at any time, unless directed to do so from a
member of staff.
16. The use
of photography or video is prohibited unless prior
permission is granted by management. Access to the
slopes is prohibited for this purpose.
17. The
Ringo Track is not advised for those suffering from neck
or back problems. If you have any other condition which
you think may be affected by your use of the track
please consult us for advice
18.
It is compulsory for helmets to be worn
for race training, ramps and rails sessions and when
using the Ringo Track (available free of charge).
19.
Helmets are available for all activities
free of charge.
20. It is
compulsory for wrist guards to be worn when
snowboarding. Wrist guards and other pads are available
free of charge.
21. The
minimum requirement for recreational use on all slopes
is:
a) Snowboarding - Controlled descent from
the top of the slopes and confident use of the lifts.
b) Skiing- Confident linked snow plough turns from the
top of the slopes and use of the lifts.
c) Snowblading - Controlled descent from the top of the
slopes and confident use of the
lifts.
22. All recreational users must sign the
entry declaration form prior to paying.
23. Management reserve the right to refuse admission or
to remove any person from the slopes who is found not
meeting the minimum standard for skiing, snowboarding,
snowblading or ringos. No refunds or compensation will
be made.
24. All
customers are requested to abide by the skiers/snowboaders
code of conduct. Failure to do so may result in the
offender being asked to leave the slopes. No refunds or
compensation will be
made.
25. All customers are requested to
observe the location of the ski lifts emergency buttons
and comply with all signs displayed at the centre.
26. Members of the public are obliged to
report any accident/incident to the Duty Manager.
27. By
signing a booking form, booking by telephone or signing
the entry declaration, this is confirmation of having
read and agreed to abide by the centre's terms and
conditions.
